Product details

Commercial-grade equipment, inspected and supported by warranty.

The Precor Icarian Olympic Decline Bench is engineered for barbell decline pressing with an ergonomic decline angle targeting the sternal and lower pectoralis fibers, integrated barbell racks, wide base stability, and heavy-duty high-density padded Icarian commercial construction — 239 lb bench, 89"×67" footprint. The decline angle is the training specification that distinguishes this bench from a flat Olympic bench: the declined surface shifts the pectoralis major loading toward the sternal head and lower chest fibers by changing the angle at which the press force acts relative to the fiber orientation of the clavicular, sternal, and costal pectoralis regions. A flat press loads the mid-sternum fibers most directly; a decline press tips the force vector downward relative to the torso, placing proportionally more tension on the sternal and lower fibers that run from the sternum and ribs toward the humerus. For lifters whose lower chest development lags their upper or mid-chest — common in those whose primary pressing is flat bench — the decline angle provides a training stimulus that flat pressing cannot replicate regardless of load. The integrated barbell racks position the bar at the correct height for an Icarian decline bench setup — the declination means the bar rack height must be appropriately lower relative to the lifter's arm position than a flat bench rack, which is why purpose-built decline benches with integrated racks rather than a separate power rack are the correct equipment for this movement. The wide base prevents tip-over during the loading phase when the lifter's body weight is shifted toward the decline end.

High-density padding for comfort through heavy decline pressing sessions. 239 lb Precor Icarian commercial decline bench, 89"×67" footprint. Remanufactured.

Decline Angle — Sternal and Lower Pec Loading Flat Pressing Can't Replicate
Decline tips the press force vector downward relative to the torso, shifting loading toward the sternal and lower costal pectoralis fibers that flat pressing doesn't address regardless of load. For lifters whose lower chest development lags their mid-chest — common with flat bench as the primary pressing movement — the decline angle provides an irreplaceable training stimulus. Integrated barbell racks are set at the correct declination-adjusted height for safe unrack and rerack.
Wide Base · Integrated Racks · High-Density Padding · 239 lb Frame
Wide base prevents tip-over during loading when body weight shifts toward the decline end — a stability consideration specific to decline benches that flat benches don't require. Integrated racks built for the declination angle rather than adapted from a flat bench setup. High-density padding for comfort through sustained heavy decline pressing sets. 239 lb Icarian heavy-duty steel frame for commercial durability.

3. Are flat benches compatible with Smith machines?

Yes—most flat benches fit under Smith bars; verify width in product specs.

4. Do benches come with a warranty?

New benches: OEM warranty; remanufactured: 6–12 month Build A Gym Guarantee.

5. What delivery options are offered?

Ground parcel shipping for small benches; curbside freight for commercial models.
