Who We Buy From
Build A Gym purchases used commercial fitness equipment from facilities of every size: independent gyms and studios, hotels and apartment communities, corporate and campus fitness centers, physical therapy and training facilities, and private owners with commercial equipment at home.
We buy single machines and entire floors. If you are closing, relocating, or replacing a fleet, we can take the whole lot in one transaction rather than leaving you to sell it piece by piece.
What matters to us is the equipment, not who owns it. We buy industrial commercial-grade machines — the kind built for a paying membership to use all day, the sort you find on the floor at a Gold’s or a Planet Fitness. We do not buy residential equipment of any kind, and if you are unsure which you have, it is almost certainly residential.
Distance decides the size of the lot. Within 130 miles of Jarrell, Texas we will come out for a single machine. Outside that radius we can only move full truckloads — roughly 15 full-size commercial machines, or 6,500 lb of equipment, and either measure qualifies you. Below that the freight costs more than the load is worth.
We receive hundreds of submissions a day and only respond to the ones we are interested in buying. If you do not hear back from us, it was not a fit.

2. We Make An Offer
If it is a fit, we price it against what the equipment is genuinely worth once remanufactured, then tell you plainly what we can pay. If it is not, you will not hear from us.
3. We Handle Removal
Agree the price and we arrange collection. Moving heavy commercial equipment is what we do every day, so the rigging and freight are our problem, not yours.

Commercial-grade strength and cardio: selectorized and plate-loaded machines, racks, benches, free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, step mills and rowers. If you are not sure whether yours is commercial or residential, it is almost certainly residential.
Not residential equipment, no — no folding treadmills, all-in-one home systems, direct-to-consumer bikes, or big-box store machines. But we do buy from homeowners whose equipment is genuinely commercial. It is the machine that has to qualify, not the address.
Not necessarily. We remanufacture equipment as a matter of course, so worn or partly broken machines still have value to us. Be honest about the condition; it will not count against you.
