Product details

Commercial-grade equipment, inspected and supported by warranty.

The Precor EFX 865 Total Body Elliptical combines rear-drive system with hybrid generator and eddy current resistance, Converging CrossRamp® 13°–40° range, converging stride 21"–25", moving handlebars, self-draining polypropylene pedals, 20 resistance levels, 27 programs, contact HR and Polar telemetry, and P62 10" LCD capacitive touchscreen — 340 lb commercial frame, 80"×30" footprint. The EFX 865 shares CrossRamp® geometry with the EFX 835 and EFX 863 but differs in three meaningful specifications: the ramp range extends from 13°–40° rather than 10°–35° — both a wider low end ceiling (40° vs. 35°) and a slightly elevated floor (13° vs. 10°). The 40° maximum produces a steeper climbing simulation than the 35° machines are capable of, loading the glutes and posterior chain proportionally more at the top of the range. The rear-drive system is the mechanical configuration that determines where the flywheel and drive mechanism are positioned relative to the user: a rear-drive places the mechanical components behind the user rather than in a center-drive or front-drive configuration, which affects the feel of the stride — rear-drive ellipticals tend to produce a more oval, walking-like stride path compared to the rounder arc of center-drive machines. The hybrid generator and eddy current resistance combines self-generation (the user's pedaling powers the electronics) with eddy current electromagnetic resistance braking, providing consistent resistance calibration independent of cadence variation. Self-draining polypropylene pedals are the maintenance specification that prevents moisture and sweat accumulation inside the pedal well — relevant in high-use commercial environments where pedal hygiene affects user experience and cleaning cycle time.

Covered ramp and rear-drive housing for simplified cleaning. P62 10" capacitive touchscreen with 27 programs including intervals, hills, fitness tests, and targeted toning. 340 lb Precor EFX 865 commercial frame, 80"×30" footprint. Remanufactured.

CrossRamp® 13°–40° · Rear-Drive · Converging Stride 21"–25"
40° maximum ramp extends the climbing simulation ceiling beyond the 35° maximum on the EFX 835 and EFX 863, producing steeper posterior chain loading at peak angle. Rear-drive configuration places the drive mechanism behind the user, producing a more oval walking-like stride path compared to center-drive machines. Converging stride grows from 21" at 13° through 25" at 40° ramp, replicating the extended reach of steep climbing at high ramp angles.
Hybrid Generator · Eddy Current Resistance · Self-Draining Pedals
Hybrid generator powers the electronics from user pedaling; eddy current electromagnetic resistance provides consistent braking independent of cadence variation. Self-draining polypropylene pedals prevent moisture accumulation inside the pedal well — a maintenance specification that reduces cleaning cycle time and improves pedal hygiene in high-rotation commercial environments. Covered ramp and rear-drive housing simplify routine cleaning further.
P62 10" Cap. Touchscreen · 27 Programs · Contact HR + Polar Telemetry
P62 10" LCD capacitive touchscreen with customizable preferences — the same console as the TRM 761, RBK 865, and UBK 865 for a consistent interface across the Precor line. 27 programs including intervals, hills, fitness tests, and targeted toning cover the full training spectrum. Contact HR sensors on handlebars and Polar-compatible telemetry for two heart rate monitoring paths. 350 lb max user weight.

1. How do total-body ellipticals engage the upper body?

Moving handles sync with pedals to work arms, shoulders, and core.

2. What power requirements exist?

Most total-body ellipticals are self generated, while others require a standard 110 V outlet. None require a 20 amp outlet.

3. How often should I lubricate the machine?

Apply a light silicone lubricant to moving components every 6 months.

4. What financing and warranty options apply?

Same financing as all other cardio; new units carry full OEM warranty, remanufactured include Build A Gym's 1 year guarantee. Extended warranties available at checkout.
