The Precor EFX 685 Total Body Elliptical delivers motorized adjustable CrossRamp® (10°–35°), variable stride length (21"–25"), moving handlebars, 20 resistance levels (534 W max), 22 preset programs, 18 in-workout metrics, and P82 15" HD touchscreen — 340 lb commercial frame, 80"×28" footprint, 120V power. The CrossRamp® is Precor's motorized ramp angle technology — not a fixed ramp like the EFX 761, but a variable ramp that adjusts from 10° to 35° during the session. This is the defining distinction: at 10° the foot path is nearly horizontal, producing a movement close to walking or running where the glutes and hamstrings are relatively less loaded; at 35° the foot path tilts steeply upward, producing a movement closer to stair climbing where the glutes and posterior chain are maximally loaded. CrossRamp angle can be changed mid-session without stopping, which is what makes it a genuine training variable rather than a setup parameter — interval protocols that alternate between 10° and 35° create a compound cardio and lower-body conditioning effect unavailable on fixed-ramp ellipticals. Variable stride length (21"–25") automatically adjusts to match each user's natural walking and running stride length rather than constraining users to a fixed arc, which is what the "variable" specification means — the machine senses stride and adapts rather than requiring a manual length selection. Moving handlebars engage chest, back, and shoulder musculature through the full stride simultaneously with the lower body.

P82 15" HD touchscreen with fitness tracking, entertainment, and 18 real-time metrics. 22 preset programs including interval, heart rate, and performance training. Requires 120V outlet. 340 lb Precor EFX 685 commercial frame, 80"×28" footprint. Remanufactured.

Gluteus Maximus Hamstrings Quadriceps Calves

Motorized CrossRamp® 10°–35° — Mid-Session Ramp Changes for Interval Training
Motorized ramp adjusts from 10° (walking/running-adjacent, quad-dominant) through 35° (stair-climbing-adjacent, glute and posterior chain-dominant) during the session without stopping. CrossRamp angle as a training variable — rather than a setup parameter — enables interval protocols alternating between low and high angles, creating a compound cardio and lower-body conditioning effect unavailable on fixed-ramp ellipticals.
Variable Stride 21"–25" · Moving Handlebars · 534 W Max Resistance
Variable stride automatically adapts to each user's natural stride length rather than constraining them to a fixed arc — the machine senses and adjusts rather than requiring manual selection. Moving handlebars engage chest, back, and shoulders simultaneously with the lower body. 534-watt maximum resistance at level 20 provides a genuine performance ceiling for high-intensity athletic training.
P82 15" HD Touchscreen · 18 Metrics · 22 Programs
P82 15" high-definition touchscreen — a step up from the 10" P62 found on the TRM 761 and RBK 865 — with intuitive interface, fitness tracking, entertainment, and 18 real-time performance metrics including calories, watts, heart rate, and distance. 22 preset programs cover interval, heart rate, and performance-based training across all user levels.

1. How do total-body ellipticals engage the upper body?

Moving handles sync with pedals to work arms, shoulders, and core.

2. What power requirements exist?

Most total-body ellipticals are self generated, while others require a standard 110 V outlet. None require a 20 amp outlet.

3. How often should I lubricate the machine?

Apply a light silicone lubricant to moving components every 6 months.

4. What financing and warranty options apply?

Same financing as all other cardio; new units carry full OEM warranty, remanufactured include Build A Gym's 1 year guarantee. Extended warranties available at checkout.
