Independent movement arms are the design specification that distinguishes this shoulder press from a linked or convergent bar system: each arm operates independently from the other, which means the left and right shoulders must press independently rather than having one side assist the other through a shared bar. On a linked overhead press machine the stronger side can compensate for the weaker side through the bar connection — the bar moves when the combined force from both sides is sufficient, which allows the stronger side to carry more than its share of the load without the user sensing the asymmetry. Independent arms prevent this: each side must generate enough force to move its own arm through the full pressing arc without assistance from the other side, which exposes and addresses bilateral strength imbalances that linked machines can mask. The ergonomic multi-grip handles allow the wrist and elbow to orient naturally for each user's shoulder anatomy — a single fixed grip position constrains the forearm to a plane that may or may not match the user's natural pressing plane, introducing wrist and elbow torque through the overhead arc. Multiple grip positions let users find the hand orientation that minimizes joint torque through the press. The adjustable seat positions the shoulder at the correct starting height relative to the press arm pivot — the same critical adjustment as on the C-Line and Vitality shoulder press machines.
