The BUILT Strength Fractal Series Calf Extension targets both the gastrocnemius and soleus through a seated plantar flexion movement on an angled footplate that supports a full dorsiflexion-to-plantarflexion range of motion — the deep stretch at the bottom and complete contraction at the top that calf development demands. The seated position with knees bent specifically de-emphasizes the gastrocnemius and increases soleus isolation compared to standing calf raise machines, making this the more complete lower-leg development option.

A padded seat and leg restraint maintain correct alignment and prevent the legs from shifting under load, and a 280 lb selectorized stack provides the loading range for both light activation work and serious progressive calf strength training. Compact 40" × 69" footprint, 581 lb commercial frame. New.

Soleus Gastrocnemius
Tibialis Anterior Peroneals

Angled Footplate — Full Plantar Flexion Range
The angled footplate positions the ball of the foot correctly for a full dorsiflexion stretch at the bottom through maximum plantarflexion contraction at the top — the complete calf arc needed for both gastrocnemius and soleus fiber recruitment.
Seated Position — Soleus Isolation Emphasis
The seated, knees-bent position reduces gastrocnemius recruitment and shifts emphasis to the soleus — the muscle most undertrained on standing calf raise machines — making this the more complete lower-leg development option.
Padded Seat & Leg Restraint
A padded seat and leg restraint keep the user correctly positioned and prevent leg shift under heavy loads — maintaining consistent footplate contact and loading angle through every rep of every set.
280 lb Selectorized Stack
A 280 lb pin-select stack provides a wide loading range for calf development — from light activation and warm-up work through serious progressive lower-leg strength training without a stack ceiling limiting progress.
